Ok, Let
There is a lot to say about this game. And Ill start by saying what I said while playing it: what am I doing??
The first thing is that the game throws you in with no story into a rather cliche battleground. The next thing is that the mechanics are far from good. The graphics arent terrible, but theyre no better that that of an early GameCube game. The animation is lacking on the tank itself while moving or shooting. When you roll over terrain, it looks like you are flying a foot above the ground. Also, I personally HATE the control scheme of A,S,W,D, and using other buttons that no one would even think of to use for important controls, i.e. pressing Control for shooting. Why? It makes no sense to me.
There are barely any enemies, there is no action, you just roll around looking for something to shoot. When you do see an enemy such as a sentry gun or those "glowing domes" firing what looks like gamma rays, you have to face the tank directly in front of it to aim at it; otherwise it misses your target. It is difficult to aim in the first place because you can barely see the tip of the barrel sticking out in front of the vehicle. And the land mines? Come on, if you cant see that theyre there, dont have them, because it is a hazard that is completely unexpected and unavoidable. At least give some kind of cryptic indication like a dark spot or flag or SOMETHING to indicate that there is a mine there. Trying to imitate realism is OK, but… Just no excuse.
Also, there are no other meters other than the one that depicts your health. Along with that, there are no power-ups or ugrades for the tank to collect, like health packs, ammunition, anything. Lastly, have some kind of modifications to collect to improve the tanks arsenal, like a more powerful cannon and/or more resilient armor.
I appreciate the developers for trying something more advanced, and these games are not easy to develop, but more experience and knowledge is needed. That is all.
